The Pavilion at the Angus Barn

With special guest and keynote speaker Brooke Shields,
renowned actress and mental health advocate.

An annual charity dinner and auction benefiting The Foundation of Hope for Research & Treatment of Mental Illness, the Evening of Hope takes place at the resplendent Pavilion at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event features an elegant 5-course dinner—served with exceptional wine pairings—prepared by Iron Chef Walter Royal, as well as a live auction, a silent auction, and a keynote speaker.

In 2017, over 430 participants helped us raise over $410,000 for clinical research projects that will help reshape the landscape for the mentally ill.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our special guest, the accomplished and inspiring Jane Pauley, whose courage and good nature were a beacon to all.

We also want to thank our Heroes for Hope: three extraordinary community organizations doing their part to improve life for their neighbors with a mental illness. Thanks to our donors, we raised over $35,000 for these remarkable men and women (and a few very good dogs!). Click here to hear their stories.

An additional thanks is owed to the Martha B. Capps Foundation for their contribution on behalf of the UNC Wake Pediatric Behavior Clinic, our signature grantee.

Finally: the evening wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our in-kind supporters, auction item donors, and volunteers, nor without the hard work of the Angus Barn staff. You are the stars that light our way, and the way for so many in need.
