Walk for Hope

A Message from the Walk Chair

Dear Friends,

In 1984, my parents Thad and Alice Eure started the Foundation of Hope to improve the lives of people in our community suffering from mental illness. For the last 24 years, I have had the pleasure of serving as Walk Chair for the Foundation's only fundraiser, the Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope.

This annual community event raises critically needed dollars for research & treatment of mental illness. The walk also brings together thousands of participants for a common cause and a day of fun. The 10k Walk begins and ends at the Angus Barn with much of the Walk winding through Umstead Park. The post walk celebration is a highlight of the day with food, prizes and pride.

Your participation and support of this community event is critical to the success of the work of the Foundation of Hope. I am committed to carrying the torch started by my parents not only because it was a priority of their lives, but also because I firmly believe in the cause and the work of the Foundation.

Mental illness will touch 1 out of 4 families, and you can help make a difference to them by joining me at the Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope on October 13th.

Warmest regards,

Van Eure
