The Run for Hope is a USA Track & Field Certified Run with timed 5K and 10K routes. The path starts at the Angus Barn Restaurant in Raleigh, N.C., and loops around the William Umstead State Park.

Taking place on the same day is the Walk for Hope, the nation’s largest fundraiser for mental health research and treatment. Runners are invited to attend the Walk for Hope’s Post Walk Celebration for an additional $30.

Registration and Costs

$30+ per person: Competitive Run Only

***Online registration for the Run for Hope closes at MIDNIGHT on Thursday, October 9, 2014.***

$60+ per person: Competitive Run & Post-Walk Celebration

This year, competitive runners are required to purchase access to a Post-Walk Celebration with activities, food, and live music. The Post-Walk Celebration begins at 11:30 AM.

  • To attend the Post-Walk Celebration for an additional $30, all runners must:
  1. Purchase an armband on the FS Series website or at Run Day Registration.
  2. Armbands will be distributed at Early Pickup * OR during Run Day registration.
  3. Run Day registration begins at 7:00 AM on Sunday, October 12.

*Early Pickup for the Run for Hope will take place  at the Angus Barn on:

Friday, October 10th, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday, October 11th, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Parking, Prizes, and Other Information

Parking: All participants must park at RDU Airport Park & Ride Lot 5 off of Lumley Road. (Follow the Walk signs.) Participants must arrange for ALL drop-offs and pick-ups at RDU Park & Ride Lot 5 lot ONLY. Shuttles are available 7 am to 3 pm between RDU Airport and the Angus Barn. Click here to download directions to RDU Park & Ride Lot 5.

Food & Beverages: Breakfast items will be provided before the Race, and water stops are available along the route. After the Run, participants have the option to either: 1) leave after event, or 2) stay for the Post-Walk Celebration starting at 11:30 am. Runners choosing to stay are REQUIRED to purchase an Event Armband for $30.

Pets: Please leave your pets at home.

Strollers: If you bring a child, remember to bring a stroller, infant carrier, baby jogger or wagon.

Rain: In the event of heavy rain, plan to park at RDU, and turn in your collection envelope by noon. There will be food and music at the Angus Barn Pavilion.

Prizes: Participants receive a T-shirt, and prizes will be given to top place runners.
