Foundation of Hope for Research and Treatment of Mental Illness Continues Community Service Grant Program

Raleigh, NC — July 26, 2007

The Foundation of Hope for Research and Treatment of Mental Illness is pleased to continue their Community Service Grant program, made possible through a grant from GlaxoSmithKline. The Foundation will award grants through an application process to nonprofit organizations for new or expanded innovative service or treatment programs for the mentally ill. The focus will be on direct service activities specifically targeted to youth, senior citizens, and the homeless population who may not receive treatment otherwise. Organizations are encouraged to contact the Foundation at 781-9255 to learn more about the program.

The Foundation of Hope for Research and Treatment of Mental Illness was established by the late Thad and Alice Eure to promote scientific research aimed at discovering the causes and potential cures for mental illness in order to develop a more effective means of treatment.

The Foundation of Hope's only fundraiser is the 19th Annual Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope, which will be held at the Angus Barn on Sunday, October 14, 2007.

With North American operations based in Research Triangle Park, NC and Philadelphia, GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and health care companies.
